Susanna Childress writes poetry, short fiction, and creative nonfiction. Her book Jagged with Love was awarded the Brittingham Prize in Poetry from the University of Wisconsin, and the Devil’s Kitchen Reading Award from the University of Southern Illinois-Carbondale. Her work has appeared in a variety of publications, including the 2015 edition of Best American Poetry. Childress holds an MA from the University of Texas at Austin and a PhD from Florida State University. She currently teaches at Hope College in Michigan, where she directs the Jack Ridl Visiting Writers Series and is the advisor of Opus, the campus literary magazine.
