Festival of Faith & Writing Student Committee
We're looking for an awesome group of student volunteers to help us host the 30th anniversary Festival of Faith & Writing, a three-day celebration of the way that words and belief shape each other.
If you're keen on all things associated with reading and writing, if you're interested in volunteering to help put on a major literary conference, and if you're a Calvin student enrolled in the fall semester preceding & spring semester of Festival, the Center for Faith & Writing has been waiting for you.
Over the years, many amazing writers have joined us at the Festival: Maya Angelou, Elie Wiesel, Chaim Potok, Salman Rushdie, Kate Bowler, Marilynne Robinson, Madeleine L'Engle, Zadie Smith, Annie Dillard, Anne Lamott, John Updike, Katherine Paterson, and George Saunders, to name only a few. For the 30th anniversary, we'll add many more names to this list of luminaries, and you can sign up to be on the committee--and to host one of our speakers throughout their time at Calvin.
You'll also help us to extend hospitality to the more than 2,000 readers that attend Festival, both over the three days they join us on campus and as we plan for the party.

Hudson-Townsend Student Fellows

The Hudson-Townsend Student Fellowships are a core element of the Calvin Center for Faith & Writing.
Appointed each year, Student Fellows receive extensive training and mentoring in work centered on the contemporary world of letters—both professionally (producing texts through writing, editing, publishing; media production; marketing communications and business writing; etc.) and philosophically (researching speakers and thinking about issues in contemporary literature, particularly those related to faith). Our Fellows are truly amazing! If you are a current or prospective Calvin University student and interested in working as a Student Fellow, start by joining the Festival of Faith & Writing Student Committee.
