Since the 1970's Paul Schrader has been hailed as one of America's most gifted screenwriters. He has directed nearly 20 films and been nominated twice for the Golden Globe for best screenplay. From his work with Martin Scorsese, such as Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, and The Last Temptation of Christ, to the films of his own direction, such as Mishima and Affliction, Schrader has created a dark and affecting body of work that has had a profound effect on cinematic storytelling. His most recent film is the award-winning First Reformed, which was nominated for an Oscar for best original screenplay.
