Paul Mariani is an American poet and University Professor Emeritus at Boston College. His poetic works include Epitaphs for the Journey (2012) and Ordinary Time (2020). Mariani has also written several biographies; his book The Broken Tower: A Life of Hart Crane inspired James Franco’s 2012 film of the same title. Additionally, William Carlos Williams: A New World Naked won the New Jersey Writers Award, was short-listed for an American Book Award, and was named a New York Times Notable Book of the year. Mariani currently lives with his wife in western Massachusetts.
