Maurice Manning has published eight books of poetry, most recently, Snakedoctor. His first book, Lawrence Booth's Book of Visions, was selected by W.S. Merwin for the Yale Series of Younger Poets. His fourth book, The Common Man, was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. A former Guggenheim fellow, Manning is the co-creator with Steve Cody, of The Grinnin' Possum Podcast which combines poetry, music, history, and geography. His poems have appeared in Garden & Gun, Time, The New Yorker, among others. He is Professor of English and Writer-in-Residence at Transylvania University in Lexington and also teaches in the Warren Wilson MFA Program for Writers. He lives with his family on a farm in Kentucky.
