Mark Jarman

Poetry

Mark Jarman is a poet and professor emeritus of English at Vanderbilt College. His most recent book of poems is The Heronry (2017), which Publishers Weekly praised for "exploring the sinew and soul of humankind with precision and tenderness." Jarman's many other books of poetry include Bone Fires: New and Selected Poems (2011), Epistles (2007), Unholy Sonnets (2000), and Questions for Ecclesiastes (1997). He has received numerous awards for his writing, including a Guggenheim Fellowship, three grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Lenore Marshall Prize from the Academy of American Poets.
