Jo Walton

Jo Walton is a poet, essayist, short story, and fantasy/science fiction writer. She has published 13 novels, including The King’s Peace and Necessity; three poetry collections; an essay collection; and a short story collection. Her many awards include the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer, the World Fantasy Award for her novel Tooth and Claw in 2003, and both a Hugo and Nebula award in 2011 for her semi-autobiographical fairytale, Among Others.

In 2014, she published the novel My Real Children, which won the James Tiptree Jr. Award. The Just City, a novel exploring Plato’s Republic, was published in early 2015 to widespread acclaim. From Wales, Walton now lives in Montreal, Quebec.
