Criticism, Spirituality, Theology

David Clinton Owens was an ordained Presbyterian minister and had a PhD in English Literature from Texas A&M University. He collaborated with his wife, Virginia Stem Owens, on the book Living Next Door to the Death House (2003), a study of a Texas community and its relationship to death row. Through candid, compelling interviews with those in Huntsville connected both personally and professionally to the Texas prison system, the authors explore how the steady stream of executions in the town has affected these people and the community at large.
