David Crowe is chair of the English Department at Augustana College. His scholarship focuses on Ernest Hemingway’s early work, as well as on the novels of Jon Hassler, David Lodge, and Tim O’Brien. He is the author of Cosmic Defiance: Updike’s Kierkegaard and the Maples Stories (2014).
