Bret Lott is the bestselling author of fourteen books in a wide range of genres. His novels include Ancient Highway, The Hunt Club, A Song I Knew by Heart, and Jewel, an Oprah’s Book Club selection. He has written about the creative process in books such as Before We Get Started: A Practical Memoir of the Writer’s Life and Letters and Life: On Being a Writer, On Being a Christian. He is also the editor of The Best Christian Short Stories and Not Safe, But Good: Short Stories Sharpened by Faith, vols. 1-2. Lott's many honors include being named Fulbright Senior American Scholar and writer-in-residence to Bar-Ilan University in Tel Aviv, Israel; speaking on Flannery O’Connor at The White House; and having served as a member of the National Council on the Arts from 2006-2012.
