Anbara Salam

Anbara Salam’s debut novel, Things Bright and Beautiful (2018), was pursued by multiple publishers. The book follows the violent unraveling of two missionaries, drawing on the six months its author spent working on a small island in the South Pacific. Her novel Belladonna was released in June 2020.

Salam, who is half-Palestinian and half-Scottish, grew up in London. She graduated from Oxford with a PhD in Theology in 2014, after studying in Beirut and York, where she continues to live and work as an academic.
