Sandra Maria Van Opstal is an author, liturgist, activist, and executive pastor at Grace and Peace Community on the west side of Chicago. She has written and contributed to several books, including The Mission of Worship, God's Graffiti Devotional, The Next Worship: Glorifying God in a Diverse World, and Still Evangelical? Insiders Reconsider Political, Social, and Theological Meaning. Van Opstal has worked for fifteen years with the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, was the director of worship for the Urbana Missions Conference and the Chicago Urban Program director, and now serves as a board member for Evangelicals for Justice and the Christian Community Development Association.
