Samuel Martin
Samuel Thomas Martin is the author of the story collection This Ramshackle Tabernacle (2010), short-listed for Canada's BMO Winterset Award; and the novel A Blessed Snarl (2012), long-listed for the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award. His short stories, essays, and reviews have appeared in Image, Riddle Fence, Canadian Literature, Christian Courier, Relief, and Qwerty, among other publications.
Martin holds an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Toronto and a PhD in English Literature from Memorial University of Newfoundland, where he completed a dissertation on “sacramental reading.” He is currently the Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, where he lives with his wife, Samantha, and their black lab, Vader.
