Richard Foster

Richard J. Foster is a Quaker theologian and author of Celebration of Discipline, which sold over one million copies and was named by Christianity Today as one of the top ten books of the twentieth century. His many other books include Prayer, Streams of Living Water, and Sanctuary of the Soul. Foster holds a Doctor of Pastoral Theology degree from Fuller Theological Seminary; he has served as a professor at Friends University, and as a pastor of Evangelical Friends churches. He is the founder of Renovaré, a nonprofit organization that models and advocates fullness of life with God experienced, by grace, through the spiritual practices of Jesus and of the historical Church.
