Peter Marty

Peter W. Marty serves as senior pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa; and as senior publisher of The Christian Century, a journal devoted to shaping America’s conversation about religion and faith in public life. His book The Anatomy of Grace was published in 2008.
Marty has preached at the Washington National Cathedral, Duke Chapel, and Yale University. He has received an honors fellowship for study at Oxford University, two honorary doctorates, and the Academy of Parish Clergy’s “Parish Pastor of the Year” award. Marty is married to Susan, and they have two adult children.
