Okey Ndibe

Okey Ndibe is the author of the novels Foreign Gods, Inc. (2014) and Arrows of Rain (2015), and the memoir Never Look an American in the Eye: A Memoir of Flying Turtles, Colonial Ghosts, and the Making of a Nigerian American (2016). Born in Yola, Nigeria, Ndibe came to the United States as founding editor of the international magazine African Commentary. He holds MFA and PhD degrees from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Besides teaching at Brown University, Trinity College, and the University of Lagos, Ndibe has also served as an editorial writer for Hartford Courant, where his journalism has won state and national awards.
