Myles Pinkney

Myles Pinkney is a freelance photographer. He collaborated with his wife, writer Sandra Pinkney, to produce the NAACP Image Award winning children's book Shades of Black: A Celebration of Our Children (2006). The book's photographic portraits and striking descriptions of African American children's varied skin tones, hair texture, and eye color convey a strong sense of pride in a unique heritage. Myles and Sandra's other books include A Rainbow All Around Me and Read and Rise, a collaboration with the National Urban League. They live in Poughkeepsie, New York.
