If you met Mary DeMuth today, her joy might confuse you. Who she has become in light of tragedy is a testimony of Jesus’s ability to transform a broken life.
Mary has written over 50 nonfiction and fiction titles, including The Most Misunderstood Women of the Bible (Salem Books, 2022). Her book We Too won the 2019 Christianity Today Book Award (Award of Merit) in the Christian Living/Discipleship category.
Twice nominated for a Christy Award for her fiction, she teaches writing intensives in the US and Switzerland every year. To further help authors, she formed Mary DeMuth Literary and represents dozens of authors there.
As an advocate for sexual abuse survivors, she’s shared her story on CNN and has been featured in The Washington Post, Christianity Today, the Associated Press, The New York Times, and The Dallas Morning News. From the stage, she prayed for abuse victims at the 2019 Southern Baptist Convention.
Mary has a vigorous speaking schedule and has had the privilege of sharing the healing journey with audiences around the world in places like Nice, Munich, Florence, Johannesburg, Accra, Port au Prince, Montreal, Geneva and Monte Carlo, and she planted a church with her family in southern France.
Her best work? Being a mom to three amazing young adults and the wife of 29 years to Patrick. She makes her home in Dallas alongside her husband, an energetic chocolate lab, and a fuzzy black cat named Boo Radley.
