Madeleine Mysko

Madeleine Mysko is the author of the novels Bringing Vincent Home (2007) and Stone Harbor Bound (2015), and the poetry collection Crucial Blue (2019). Her work has appeared in Shenandoah, Commonweal, and The Hudson Review. During the Vietnam War, Mysko served in the Army Nurse Corps on the burn ward of Brooke Army Medical Center. She later returned to college, receiving her master’s degrees from the Writing Seminars of both Johns Hopkins University and George Washington University. Mysko’s awards include two Individual Artist grants from the Maryland State Arts Council, a Howard Nemerov Sonnet Award, and an Artscape Prize for Fiction from the City of Baltimore. She currently serves as coordinating editor of the Reflections Column for The American Journal of Nursing.
