Larry Plamondon
Memoir, Spirituality
Lawrence "Pun" Plamondon is a storyteller, author, and former 1960s left-wing activist. His father was half-Odawa and his mother was part-Ojibwe, which he was unaware of early in life. A couple from Traverse City, Michigan adopted him, but had a troubled childhood and left home as a teenager. His involvement with the White Panther Party led to his being listed as one of the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives. Later in life, Plamandon pursued his passion for oral storytelling, sharing Native American stories at schools, museums, libraries, summer camps, and other events. He has published a memoir, Lost from the Ottawa: The Story of the Journey Back.
