Kate DiCamillo is a two-time Newbery Medalist and a former National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature. Her award-winning YA novels include Because of Winn-Dixie, The Tiger Rising, Raymie Nightingale, Louisiana's Way Home, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, The Tale of Despereaux, and Flora & Ulysses. DiCamillo has also written stories for emerging chapter-book readers, including the Mercy Watson series and the Deckawoo Drive tales.
