Journalism, Spirituality
Judith Shulevitz is a journalist and editor who currently writes for The New Republic and The New York Times. Her book The Sabbath World: Glimpses of a Different Order of Time explores one of the most important ideas in Western religious thought — that to thrive, societies must designate set times in which work stops and the rest of life occurs. It was named a notable book of 2010 by The New York Times; was a finalist for the National Jewish Book Award; and was awarded a medal by the American Library Association.
