Joy Beth Smith is managing editor for Today’s Christian Woman and the author of Party of One: Truth, Longing, and the Subtle Art of Singleness (2018). She has an ever-growing passion for seeing how the gospel engages with culture, gender, and sexuality.

Smith earned her MA in English Literature from Liberty University and moved to Nashville, where she quickly discovered that teaching middle school was an acquired taste. She now spends her days writing, editing, and managing TCW, among other brands.

Smith’s writing has been published in the New York Times, The Washington Post, Salt Lake Tribune, and Christianity Today. She is a winner of the Higher Goals in Christian Journalism Award from the Evangelical Press Association. Smith enjoys reading, writing, and coffee drinking; she can be found pretending to read in coffee shops while shamelessly eavesdropping. She lives in Illinois.
