John Van Rys
Criticism
John Van Rys is a Professor of English at Redeemer University. His scholarly work focuses primarily on writing pedagogy, modern Canadian literature, historical fiction, and reading ethics. He is the lead author on textbooks such as The Research Writer: Curiosity, Discovery, Dialogue and The College Writer: A Guide to Thinking, Writing, and Researching. He is also a published poet and fiction writer. At the 1994 Festival of Faith and Writing, Van Rys participated in a panel on the topic of "The Reader's Role in Writing."
