John Estes
Poetry
John Estes directs the undergraduate creative writing program at the University of Alabama. He holds a PhD in English from the University of Missouri, where he concentrated in poetics and environmental literature. Estes is the author of three books of poetry: Kingdom Come, Stop Motion Still Life, and Sure Extinction, which won the 2015 Elixir Press Antivenom Award. He has also published two chapbooks: Breakfast with Blake at the Laocoön, and Swerve, which won a National Chapbook Fellowship from the Poetry Society of America.
