James Vanden Bosch

James Vanden Bosch is a professor emeritus at Calvin University, where he taught for thirty-five years and earned the Presidential Award for Exemplary Teaching. His areas of expertise include grammar, linguistics, and corpus linguistics. He holds graduate degrees from Ohio University and the University of Chicago Divinity School. Before joining Calvin's English department, Vanden Bosch taught at Northwestern College and Dordt College, both in Iowa. In retirement, Vanden Bosch is studying the grammar of the absolute phrase in the 18th century.
