Elesha J. Coffman

Elesha Coffman is a professor of history at Baylor University. She holds a PhD from Duke University, and spent a year as a fellow at the Center for the Study of Religion at Princeton University. Her first book, The Christian Century and the Rise of the Protestant Mainline, narrates the history of the magazine and its role in establishing the tradition that would come, in 1960, to be called mainline. Her most recent publication is a spiritual biography of the anthropologist Margaret Mead for the Oxford University Press “Spiritual Lives” series.
