Denise Frame Harlan writes creative nonfiction, essays, and memoir. Her essay And She Took Flour: Cooking Lessons with Robert Farrar Capon was published in the anthology The Spirit of Food: 34 Writers on Feasting and Fasting Toward God (Wipf & Stock 2010). Denise also earned an honorable mention for the VanderMey Creative Nonfiction Award 2013 for her essay Smoke Rings.
Denise teaches The Great Conversation and Intro to Creative Writing at Gordon College. She also teaches as the college application essay tutor at Lexington Preparatory School.
