Dean Nelson can talk to anybody. As an award-winning journalist who has written for the New York Times, the Boston Globe, magazines and books, he is a pro at extracting information. As the host of the annual Writer's Symposium By The Sea, he focuses on how to get writers to articulate how the writing process works—he's interviewed Anne Lamott, Ray Bradbury, Amy Tan, Christian Wiman, Alice Walker, David Brooks, Billy Collins, Cornel West, Maria Hinojosa, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and dozens of others. He is the founder and director of the journalism program at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, and his latest book is Talk To Me: How To Ask Better Questions, Get Better Answers, and Interview Anyone Like a Pro, published by HarperCollins. He conducts writing and interviewing workshops around the world.
