David Urban

David V. Urban is a Professor of English at Calvin University. He is the author of Milton and the Parables of Jesus: Self-Representation and the Bible in John Milton’s Writings (2018), co-editor of Visionary Milton: Essays on Prophecy and Violence (2010) and co-editor and co-compiler of John Milton: An Annotated Bibliography, 1989-1999 (2011).
Urban has written on subjects including Milton, Shakespeare, Chekhov, Austen, and Tolstoy for journals such as Milton Studies, Christian Libertarian Review, and Connotations: A Journal of Critical Debate. He has also written entries for The Encyclopedia of the Bible and Its Reception, The Milton Encyclopedia, and The Dictionary of Theological Interpretation of the Bible.
