Roy Anker is a professor emeritus of English at Calvin College (now University), where he taught film, literature, and writing for more than twenty-five years. In addition to teaching, he has served as a co-editor for Perspectives: A Journal of Reformed Thought. He is the author of several books of film criticism, including Catching Light: Looking for God in the Movies (2004), Of Pilgrims and Fire: When God Shows Up at the Movies (2010), and Beautiful Light: Religious Meaning in Film (2017).
