Miriam Bat-Ami is an author, poet, actor, and professor emerita of Western Michigan University’s English Department. She has published four books for children, ranging from picture books to a young adult novel: When the Frost Is Gone; Dear Elijah; Two Suns in the Sky; and Sea, Salt, and Air. She received a grand prize from the Maine Media Center for her poem “A Rounded Bowl,” which is forthcoming in a book of nature poetry for adults, Measuring the Marigolds.
