Jill Baumgaertner

Jill Peláez Baumgaertner is a professor emerita of English and former dean of humanities and theological studies at Wheaton College, where she taught for thirty-seven years. She has served as poetry editor of The Cresset, First Things, and The Christian Century. Baumgaertner has published five collections of poetry, including Finding Cuba (2001), My Father's Bones (2006), and What Cannot Be Fixed (2014), and is the author of a groundbreaking study of Flannery O'Connor's writing, A Proper Scaring. She is also editor of the poetry anthology Imago Dei: Poems from Christianity and Literature
