Margot Starbuck, a speaker at the 2026 Festival of Faith & Writing

Margot Starbuck

Margot (rhymes with Gogo) Starbuck is a New York Times bestselling writer who’s written over 50 books and has worked alongside publishers on hundreds of major publishing projects as a writer, editor, theological editor, and coach. She specializes in helping nonfiction writers navigate the journey to publication by providing them with resources they need to win. She equips writers to find the best path forward, offer a winning website, nail a pitch, build a great book, and craft a book proposal to dazzle gatekeepers.

Margot’s own journey to publication began in Grand Rapids when she attended the Festival of Faith and Writing in 2006. As a collaborator, Margot enjoys writing alongside athletes, entertainers, and overcomers. (Say it out loud: “Mar-GHOST-arbuck”. It’s right there.) She delights in partnering with influencers to tell their stories and communicate their messages well.

Two of Margot’s most recent books include The Tender Part, a workbook equipping readers to experience healing from childhood hurts, and a companion 365 devotional of brief affirmations, The Solid Place. Margot is convinced that as we notice and care for our hurting parts, replaces lies with truth, we can be set free.

Margot is a graduate of Westmont College and Princeton Theological Seminary.
