Kathryn Post
Kathryn Post is a national reporter for Religion News Service (RNS), an independent, nonprofit source of global news on religion, spirituality, culture and ethics founded in 1934.
Based in Pittsburgh, Kathryn covers topics such as religious “nones”, spirituality and pop culture, religious higher education and abuse in religious contexts. She joined RNS in 2021 after earning a Master of Arts in Religion from Yale Divinity School, and has degrees in writing and political science from Calvin University.
Kathryn serves on Calvin University’s Student Publications Committee and is a board member of the Religion News Association, a professional association that equips journalists to report on religion. She is a co-founder of RNA’s Emerging Journalist Cohort, a network for early career, second career and student journalists who cover religion.
Kathryn received a 2024 Wilbur Award from the Religion Communicators Council for her story “Meet Natalie Drew: Christian, trans woman, veteran, and pacifist,” and a 2025 Wilbur Award for “Haitians are not eating pets: Springfield faith leaders stand with embattled migrants.”
