Jacob Schepers
Jacob Schepers is co-founder and co-editor of Ballast, a 501(c)(3) non-profit online literary magazine, and the author of the poetry collection A Bundle of Careful Compromises and the chapbooks Connections & Choreography and Shipwreck Abstracted. His poems have appeared in such places as antiphony, DIALOGIST, The Greensboro Review, Harpur Palate, Heavy Feather Review, Hobart, Indianapolis Review, North Dakota Quarterly, The Shore, Psaltery & Lyre, Verse, and elsewhere. His reviews and critical work have appeared in Tupelo Quarterly, The Fanzine, Entropy, Cleveland Review of Books, and Contemporary Women’s Writing.
A graduate of Calvin University, he received his MA from the University at Buffalo’s Poetics Program and his PhD and MFA from the University of Notre Dame. He is now the Outreach Specialist for Notre Dame’s Franco Family Institute for Liberal Arts and the Public Good and teaches in the University Writing Program.
He lives in South Bend, Indiana, with his wife and their four sons.
