For Educators
Hall Passes for K-12 Educators
We are thrilled to have many West Michigan teachers and librarians attend the Festival.
However, we also recognize that not all educators can join us for the entire three days. That’s why we’re pleased to be able to offer a limited number of Festival Hall Passes to K-12 teachers and librarians in West Michigan.
A Hall Pass provides educators with access to the evening plenaries on both Thursday and Friday, as well as the full day of events on Saturday, for the reduced price of $150.
In 2026, all evening plenary sessions begin at 5:30 pm. Thursday's plenary features Robin Wall Kimmerer, Friday's plenary speaker is Ross Gay, and the Festival closes with Barbara Brown Taylor on Saturday night.
Earn State Continuing Education Clock Hours
The Festival of Faith & Writing has qualified to provide state continuing education clock hours (SCECHs) to Michigan teachers in previous years, and we plan to do so again in 2026. Teachers who attend the Festival will be able to earn up to 13 SCECHs. We’re currently in the process of confirming that our program meets the State of Michigan’s requirements. More information will be posted here as soon as it is available.
Bring Your Students to the Festival
Inspire the next generation of readers with an unforgettable experience!
We welcome student groups and their professors/teachers at the Festival. If you are a high school teacher or college professor bringing two or more students to the Festival, you are eligible to register as a Faculty + Student group. The registration rate for Faculty + Student Groups is $150 per person.
