Aimee Reid, a speaker at the 2026 festival of faith and writing

Aimee Reid

As a child, Aimee Reid was a voracious reader and could often be found - curled in a corner or tucked in the crook of a tree limb - carried away to the world of a book.

Eventually, Aimee became a high school teacher of English, Music, and Special Education. The birth of her first child was the inspiration for her debut picture book with Random House Children’s Books. She has published eight picture books to date, all of which offer affirmation to young readers.

Aimee’s background as a teacher informs her interactive author visits. She creates materials for all ages and presents to audiences internationally.

The tagline for Aimee’s website is “good books to share”. As a literacy advocate, she takes joy in creating books that inspire readers and help children and caregivers connect.

Her biography of Fred Rogers, You Are My Friend: The Story of Mister Rogers and His Neighborhood, carries his message to a new generation. Its author’s note sums up the undergirding message Aimee hopes young readers will receive from her work: “You are important. You are valuable. You are enough - just as you are".”

Drawing inspiration from Philippians 4:8, Aimee endeavors for her work to point toward what is true and beautiful.
