Sigal Samuel is a Staff Writer at Vox and the former Religion Editor at The Atlantic. Her work has also appeared in NPR, BBC, CBC, BuzzFeed, The Daily Beast, The Rumpus, The Huffington Post, Electric Literature, and more. She is the author of The Mystics of Mile End, a critically acclaimed novel about a family with a dangerous mystical obsession. Nominated for the International Dublin Literary Award, the book won a Canadian Jewish Literary Award and an Alberta Book Publishing Award. Samuel earned her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia and her BA in Philosophy from McGill University. Originally from Montreal, she now lives in Washington, DC.
