Nishta Mehra


Nishta J. Mehra is the only-child, first-generation daughter of Indian immigrants; she was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. She holds a BA in Religious Studies from Rice University and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Arizona. An English teacher with over a decade of experience in middle and high school classrooms, she lives with her family in Phoenix. She is the author of two books of essays: The Pomegranate King and Brown White Black.
