Joy Jordan-Lake

Joy Jordan-Lake is an author of southern historical fiction and spiritual nonfiction. Her historical novels include Under a Gilded Moon (2020), A Tangled Mercy (2017), and Blue Hole Back Home (2008), which won the 2009 national Christy Award for first novel and was selected as the 2009 Common Book for Baylor University. Her spiritual nonfiction writing includes Why Jesus Makes Me Nervous: Ten Alarming Words of Faith (2007). Jordan-Lake holds an MA from a theological seminary and a PhD in English; she has taught at several universities, and has also served as an associate pastor and university chaplain.
