Jaap van Heusden

Jaap van Heusden is a filmmaker who trained at the Dutch Film Academy and graduated as a director in 2005. His debut feature film Win/Win (2010) was selected by 25 international film festivals and won the Prix Europe for Best Screenplay. His second feature film, De Nieuwe Wereld (The New World), premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2013 and was awarded a Signis award at the Washington Film Festival. One of van Heusden’s recent projects is De Verloren Zoon, an award-winning adaptation of Flannery O’Connor’s short story “The Lame Shall Enter First,” set in the contemporary Netherlands.
