Anya Krugovoy Silver

Anya Krugovoy Silver (1968-2018) was the author of four books of poetry:The Ninety-Third Name of God (2010), I Watched You Disappear (2014), From Nothing (2016), and Second Bloom (2017). Silver’s verse appeared in anthologies such as Best American Poetry, The Turning Aside: The Kingdom Book of Contemporary Christian Poetry, Poetry in Medicine, From Midnight to Dawn, and How to Write a Poem. In her last year of life, she was honored with a fellowship from the Guggenheim Fellowship, which praised her work for "engaging with the trauma of chronic and terminal illness, and with religious faith and mystery, storytelling, memory, and the risks and rewards of being human.”
