Many teachers and librarians attend the Festival and we’re happy to plan a good deal of our programming with you in mind. But we also know that not all educators can join us for the full three days. That’s why we’re pleased to be able to offer a limited number of Festival Hall Passes to K-12 teachers and librarians in West Michigan. A Hall Pass provides access to the evening keynotes on both Thursday and Friday and to the full day of events on Saturday for the reduced price of $135.
To access your Hall Pass, please fill out this form.
Please note: In 2020, the Thursday evening keynote features Krista Tippett and Min Jin Lee and starts at 5:45pm. The Friday evening keynote features Katherine Paterson, Nikki Grimes, Kate DiCamillo, Gary D. Schmidt, Laurie Halse Anderson, Bryan Bliss, and Mitali Perkins and starts at 5:45pm. Saturday's closing keynote will also start at 5:45pm, speaker TBA.
We are currently applying to the State of Michigan so that teachers may receive State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs) for the 2020 Festival of Faith & Writing.
More information will be posted here as details are finalized, but the SCECH process traditionally entails:
- completing a form we will link to on this page.
- submitting that printed and signed form with $25.00 cash or check made payable to Calvin University.
- completing a short evaluation online within 30 days of receiving it by email from the State of Michigan.
- after completing the evaluation, receiving between 3-17 SCHECHs for attendance at Festival.
