How to Register for the 2024 Festival of Faith & Writing 

First, you’ll need to consider all that you would like to register for. Listed below are the four Festival-related experiences you may choose from. Registration for each component needs to be completed separately.


  • Festival of Faith & Writing - Register for this first!
    The 2024 Festival will be held in-person April 11-13 on the campus of Calvin University. This registration includes access to all concurrent sessions and all plenary lectures Thursday through Saturday. Meals, lodging, transportation, and non-Festival events are not included. Optional Wednesday Workshops are ticketed separately (see below). If you plan to attend a Wednesday Workshop, register for the Festival first to receive a $25 discount on your Workshop registration. 

  • Workshop Wednesday
    New in 2024, Workshop Wednesday offers readers and writers the chance to work directly with Festival speakers and other expert faculty for a pre-conference experience. All full- and half-day workshops take place on April 10 and do not conflict with any Festival events.

    Please Note: Registration for ONLY a Wednesday Workshop is permitted; however, all Festival registrants will receive a discount code for $25 off any workshop in their Festival confirmation email. If you plan to attend both, register for the Festival first to receive your discount code. 

    Lunch Options 

    As always, FFW registrants can eat lunch off-campus or at limited on-campus locations. For guaranteed on-campus lunch on Friday and Saturday, registrants can choose ONE of the options below. 

  • Festival Lunch Circles
    Lunch Circles are small groups that meet during lunch on Friday and Saturday to discuss a topic of common interest. Each Circle is composed of no more than 20 attendees and is led or co-led by other Festivalgoers (whose proposals were accepted this fall). This year, all Festival Lunch Circles will meet in Calvin's Knollcrest Dining Hall from 12-1:30 pm, where a full cafeteria-style service will be on offer. The fee to participate in a Circle is $30 (plus a $3 service charge), which covers the cost of your lunch on both Friday and Saturday. Festival Lunch Circle participants must preregister in order to take part in these small affinity groups; registration will remain open for available Lunch Circles through March 22, 2024. 

  • Boxed Lunches
    For an easy lunch solution on campus, we are offering boxed meals for Festivalgoers on Friday and Saturday. Lunch seating will be provided in the Hoogenboom Health & Recreation Center inside the Fieldhouse for attendees to eat lunch together. Cost per boxed lunch is $15 (plus a $2.16 service charge per meal). Full descriptions of the boxed lunches are available here. These meals must be preordered and are available to order through March 22, 2024. All boxed lunch orders are non-refundable. 

Registration FAQs 

Why can't I register for everything in a single transaction?   

Registration is separated into categories to allow participants the ability to sign up for various aspects of the Festival at different times.  For example, you may choose to register for the Festival itself immediately but wait until later to commit to the other add-ons. Please take your time to read through your options for Workshop Wednesday and Festival Lunch Circles to determine the ways in which you would like to enhance your Festival experience. While we certainly understand the annoyance of having to perform multiple transactions, we want to ensure that each attendee has the flexibility to customize their own Festival experience. But don’t wait too long – spots are limited! 


Are there any special discounts for the 2024 Festival? 

Yes. We are currently offering the following discount: 

  • Festival/Workshop Combo: All Festival registrants will receive a code for $25 off any Wednesday Workshop. If you plan to register for both experiences, please register for Festival first and make sure to check your confirmation email for your discount code before registering for a workshop. 


Will all of my registrations be linked together? 
Yes. Please use the same email address when registering for all your selections. This will tie together all your transactions into a single account, which will simplify things for both the Festival staff and you. This coming spring, you will be able to access the Festival’s app, which will allow you to login and view all your registrations in one place. 


What is your cancellation policy?
If you are unable to attend either your workshop or the Festival and notify us by February 1, 2024, we will refund 75 percent of your registration fee. We will refund 50 percent of your registration fee through March 8, 2024. We are unable to issue any refunds after March 8, 2024. Donations made during the registration process and boxed lunch orders are not refundable. Cancellation requests must be received via email.
